Before I began using essential oils (read about them here), my good friend told me, "If you decide to do oils, you'll need a stainless steel straw." Up until that moment, I did not realize those were even a thing! I played it off, or at least I think I did, but I was semi blown away.
The thing about the stainless steel straws is that when you drink certain essential oils (peppermint, anyone?) they can be a little bit strong on your lips. The first time I tried Slim and Sassy, I did not have any of these wonder straws. My lips were unhappy due to the "hot" oils that are in the mix. By "hot" I mean like the peppermint, which feels warm on my lips.
It was at that point that I immediately went to shopping and bought our straws. (The ones I have posted include a wire straw cleaner that looks kind of like a pipe cleaner and you just push it through the straw, then pull it out. Super simple.) They arrived 2 days later, thanks to Prime, and our lips have been thanking us ever since! I will also put out there that it's vital that you not add essential oils to your water in a plastic cup, for the same reason you don't use a plastic straw when drinking your oils in water- the oils will cause the plastic to leach its toxins into the water. You do NOT want to be drinking those plastic toxins in.
You will need to drink your essential oil waters in a glass, or a glass water bottle, like this one, or stainless steel. So, long story short is to protect your pucker-uppers by using the stainless steel straws when drinking essential oils out of your glass or stainless steel cups or bottles!
